If you own a Freelander 2* or an Evoque*, it will have a Haldex all-wheel drive system that allows your vehicle to automatically distribute the power between the front and rear wheels. Unlike a traditional four-wheel drive system, the Haldex system uses an oil pressure-activated clutch coupling system on the rear differential that activates when the ECU requests it. This allows your Land Rover to benefit from the economy of a front-wheel drive system when driving in everyday conditions and will switch to an all-wheel drive system when required.
