With plans being discussed by the Government to ban petrol and diesel vehicles by 2040, Land Rover have stepped in as the latest car manufacturers and announced their plans for an electric future. Evolving ahead of time Jaguar Land Rover have made claims that every new JLR will be made electric by 2020, 20 years ahead of the proposed change over by the UK Government.
With Land Rover being renowned for innovation and luxury, it comes as no surprise they’re stepping up to the challenge of the ‘electric future’. They believe it will allow them to give their customers even more choice, with ideas of introducing fully electric, plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid vehicles.
There is no stopping Land Rover, they have already have their first fully electric vehicle to be put on sale next year – this will be a completely electric Jaguar Land Rover SUV, proposed to have a range of 300 miles. With the starting price of around the £55,000 mark!
Land Rover are providing us with the goods, however we are still left with many questions before these cars will work efficiently on the roads of the UK. One vital question being – where will the charging points be for the cars to have power?
We will have to wait and see the movement of the electric future in the next few years for Jaguar Land Rover. But for now, here at JGS we are intrigued to know if you think an electric future will be better? Let us know in the comments!
