*BACK IN STOCK* Discovery 2 Double Cardan Front Propshaft
When Land Rover designed and built the Discovery 2, they fitted a new type of front propshaft with three universal joints, one end having two universal joints, known as a double cardan joint. This special joint allows the propshaft to run at steeper angles with less vibration and binding.
However, for some reason, Land Rover decided to fit sealed universal joints and not the traditional greaseable type universal joints. This means that with age and with any off-roading or water crossings, the universal joints become dry and wear out very quickly. Worn universal joints can cause noise, vibration and at worst complete propshaft failure!
The JGS4x4 replacement propshaft comes with three greaseable universal joints and a greaseable slider joint. Regular greasing after any off-roading and every service will ensure a longer life and trouble-free operation.
We recommend using new locknuts when fitting, so we include 8 with the propshaft. We also recommend that the universal joints are greased before fitting with a quality lithium grease, little and often as with any bearings is best but particularly after any off-roading especially if wading in deep water.
These propshafts have been sold out for months, we have just had a delivery but they won’t be around for long, order yours today!
