With the bank holiday weekend fast approaching, now is the time to double-check you have everything you need for a weekend of camping and off-road adventures.
First off, we always recommend carrying out a full inspection of your Land Rover before setting off. Check your Land Rovers fluid levels are topped up to the recommended levels including the engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, steering fluid, gearbox fluid, and screen wash. Ensure your Land Rovers tyres (including the spare tyre) are in good condition and correctly inflated with sufficient tread depth (the minimum legal limit in the UK is 1.6mm). Plus, don’t forget to check your wipers and lights are all in good working order too.
What to pack for your weekend adventures?
Being a Land Rover owner, you more than likely take to the open-road and just see where you end up – it seems to be in our DNA! So, we’ve compiled a list of items we recommend packing for your pending trip.
Extra fuel for your Land Rover
It’s always useful to carry extra fuel when you’re out exploring. Choose from a variety of different size Jerry Cans and Jerry Can Holders to suit your Land Rover model.
Portable Multi-Function Battery Pack
Keep a portable battery pack in your Land Rover. It could make the difference between a fun or a miserable weekend adventure because there is nothing worse than going to start your Land Rover and the battery being flat.
We recommend our multi-function portable battery pack. They’re small and lightweight and can also be used to charge your electronics including laptops, mobile phones, tablets, portable DVD players and much more.
Rechargeable Emergency Light
Carrying a lightweight, adjustable magnetic base rechargeable emergency work light in your Land Rover is super handy. It comes with bright, medium, and flash mode settings and can be charged via a cigar lighter plug or a USB lead.
A Snatch Strap
Keeping a snatch strap in your Land Rover is always a good idea. A snatch strap is specifically designed to stretch under load when extracting bogged 4-wheel-drives with the help of a second vehicle. If, however, there is no one else around, use a tree as an anchor point and wrap a tree trunk protector around your recovery equipment to keep it undamaged and the anchor point on the tree unharmed.
A Portable Air-Compressor
We recommend carrying a portable air-compressor that will easily pump a 4×4 tyre so you don’t get caught out.
First Aid Kit
It’s always good practice to store a first aid kit in your Land Rover, especially on those weekend expeditions.
Portable Fridge Freezer
Having a portable fridge freezer in your Land Rover is the perfect addition to your weekend trip. We stock a specially designed vibration-resistant portable fridge freezer to operate in tough off-road environments. It is able to perform at +30 degrees ambient temperature outside, down to -18degrees, and has a 45-litre capacity.
Your Ultimate Overnight Living Space
Once you’ve found your perfect camping spot, just attach your awning to your Land Rover, and away you go! And no camping trip would be complete without a few home comforts including a couple of lightweight folding camp chairs, a table, and your favourite coffee mugs!
So, whatever the weather, have a great bank holiday weekend, and don’t forget to tag us on Facebook and Instagram, we always love to hear about your adventures!
