The F1 season kicked off last weekend in Australia, and while Mercedes dominated the race yet again it made me think about how a Land Rover may fair around an F1 circuit. Sure enough, I found this Land Rover Discover doing just that! – take a look at this YouTube video of a Land Rover Discovery taking in a lap of the F1 Circuit around the Nurburgring F1 Track in Germany.
A few ‘Fast’ Facts
- The Nurburgring circuit in Germany is known to be the most difficult in the world
- The car that holds the fastest lap record for this circuit is the Porsche 911 GT2, recently completing a lap of the 12.8-mile circuit in 6:40.30.
- The fastest F1 track (based on average speed) is the Melbourne Grand Prix circuit in Australia.
This Land Rover Discovery may not be travelling at quite the speed of the world record holder or Bottas’s Mercedes last weekend! However, it looks like great fun all the same! I’ve always fancied a few laps of an F1 circuit in a Land Rover, maybe I’ll nip down the road to Silverstone and give it ago!
